The PULL UP series is shot in collaboration with our East London family United Development at their HQ - The Talent House. A state-of-the-art, cultural, music and dance hub based in Stratford that provides a location for young people to develop their talents and skills using their professional recording studios, live rooms, tech labs and dance studios.
For the first edition of the PULL UP series we sat down and collaborated with one of the UK’s most respected drum’n’bass MC’s - Harry Shotta.
We’ve been working with the London based drum and bass legend Harry Shotta now for many years. He is someone who has pioneered our cultural scene, growing a huge following in the process and never deviating from the integrity and authenticity that has made him such a household name. A KING in so many senses of the word, it made sense to welcome Harry in to debut the PULL UP series.
Our first encounter with Harry actually happened before KING had even designed their first garment. As big fans of the early UK hip-hop scene, we followed a two piece rap group called Lethal and Destruction in the very early 2000’s. The rapper, who tore up every single verse he laced was none other than a young Harry Shotta who was on his early path to becoming the drum and bass stalwart he is now best known as…
Fast forward to today and listen to Harry drop the gems on his journey as a young boy obsessed with music and rapping to honing and developing his skills with help from the scenes forefathers and how to develop and maintain at the top of one of the world’s biggest music genres.
Harry will be lacing the mic at a number of events as we see out the rest of the year and you too can get involved as we will be giving away two tickets to his event at the Steel Yard, London on 16th December. Make sure you’re following our socials on instagram, twitter, tiktok and facebook and you will get notified of how to enter.
With a slew of massive features and tunes in his back catalogue and with undoubtedly more to come over the coming years, Harry has cemented himself in Drum’n’Bass and UK music lore. A true professional and one of the most hard working rappers in the game, he rightly wears the crown that is fit for a KING.
