The PULL UP series is shot in collaboration with our East London family United Development at their HQ - The Talent House. A state-of-the-art, cultural, music and dance hub based in Stratford that provides a location for young people to develop their talents and skills using their professional recording studios, live rooms, tech labs and dance studios.
The fifth episode of PULL UP ties in with the release of the new single from BBC Rap Game winner and an emcee with mad lyrical dexterity - Big Jest.
2022 was a big year for the UK with BBC’s ’The Rap Game’ topping it out, with a heated and tense finale seeing Big Jest crowned the winner.
A South London native, the big spitter has widely been dubbed the ‘Punchline King’ with intricate wordplay and vocab, a signature element of his rap style. As part of the Rap Game series Jest linked with KING afficianado and producer Michelin Shin on his final track and naturally the connects led to the KING link up, our Pull Up interview and the newly released official ‘Punchline King’ lookbook and video.
To kick things off we got the team together and pulled up with Jest at the UD studios to shoot some location content and sit down with the man himself to pick his brains on the journey through the Rap Game process, how he got the opportunity and his activities building his profile across multiple platforms. Alongside this, the KING team were also heavily involved with the styling of the Punchline King video - seeing Big Jest take in multiple locations with his crew - all decked in full uniform taken from the latest collection pieces - with Jest the standout in his own signature layered outfits.
