Friday the 13th saw the launch of the Netflix show we’ve all been waiting for - The re-birth and continuation of Top Boy.

Having been picked up by Netflix with the assistance of Drake, following its Channel 4 cancellation in 2013 after two seasons, the Hackney based drama finds us once again on the Summerhouse Estate and the long running battle for the control of Hackney’s streets.
Having been brought inside on the project back at the start of 2018, we worked closely with the wardrobe department to bring as much authenticity as we could to the outfits worn and the characters in the show - the first collaborative effort between Top Boy and King.

As well as being worn by a host of extras and background actors during the 10 show season, an original member of Dushane’s crew – Dris (played by Shone Romulus) was the chief character selected to be wearing the KING line throughout.
The Bethnal collection (a homage to our East London roots) was an obvious choice with the curved peak cap in black and stone grey key standouts.

Critically acclaimed and a milestone in the development and recognition for UK urban culture, it is an honor to be so closely involved in a show that is eye opening, educational and explores often untouched themes and hopefully will be the start of more creative collaborations between Top Boy and King.
A big salute to Ashley Walters who we have worked with for the last few years and an actor and individual who we believe is set for the main stage.

We have set up a special Top Boy section on our website where you can pick up a selection of the Bethnal range including caps, t-shirts, sweats and jackets – all made in limited runs with no repeats. Once these have sold out, they won’t be coming back. Follow the link here.
