Blue Story
Blue Story is the acclaimed inner-city drama from British musician, writer and film director Rapman (Andrew Onwubolu). Having made his name with the 3-part internet series Shiro's Story, Blue Story is Rapman's feature directorial debut, which saw a nationwide cinematic release, as well as airing exclusively to Netflix. Filmed across a 28 day period in 2019 and set in the London borough of Lewisham, the drama paints a picture of life in inner city Britain, drawing on Rapman's experiences as a young man growing up in this environment.
The KING collection was used as outfits for central characters, including Daps (Joshua Blisset), Switcher (Eric Kofi-Abrefa) and Skitzer, played by long-term KING associate Sean Sagar, who also starred in Ill Manors, Top Boy and Our Girl. Selected items from the collection were also worn by a host of extras and background characters throughout the film.
Our history in being involved in homegrown UK cinema includes the 2012 British crime drama Ill Manors, written, co-scored and directed by Ben Drew (Plan B) and 2008's Adulthood, written and directed by Noel Clarke. It was an honour to be involved with Blue Story, which went on to receive critical praise and was short-listed by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts for the category of the BAFTA Award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer.
