Last week saw us take a 14hr round trip to see our partners in Cologne, Germany at Urban Styles/Snipes. We are well in the throws of developing King in Germany with a special SS15 capsule line just released exclusively into Snipes last week (KING capsule line) and watch this space for more colabs and an increase in the brand profile and exposure across Europe over the coming seasons.
We make a point of working as closely with our partners as possible so the trip to Cologne is one that we take at least every quarter to plan and plot the forthcoming campaigns, trade shows, seasonal releases as well as to iron out any issues that crop up along the way. These guys have a major set up and also look after the likes of DRMTM, Criminal Damage, Black Kaviar and Caylor and Sons, so the roster is as heavyweight as you can get.
Most of the day was spent running through new lines, planning out the booth for the Bright trade show in July and having a nose around the facility. The guys are all on the level when it comes to understanding the King brand, how we want to develop it and the importance of maintaining, exclusivity and integrity it every point in the process. They also don't mind it when i take the piss out of them...my kind of people! These guys also have a hefty showroom space in their basement, a huge warehouse that looks after the Snipes online business as well as their affiliated sneaker outlets and one of the best studio set ups i have seen.
We will be in Berlin in July with the new lines alongside the guys and our brand agents for Germany, Switzerland and Austria so if you're at the shows then swing by the booth to see what's up.
