The curator and face of our ‘Too Wavey With It’ playlist series on Spotify and long time KING affiliate, DJ Mel is the certi talent you need on the decks at any event.
Highly educated and a qualified lab working cancer biologist, Mel also travels the globe and multi-residences as one of the most sought after multi-genre DJ’s in London.
A remarkable story and turn of events led to Mel getting behind the decks. As a nominated events co-ordinator for the student union in her Uni days, on the biggest event of the term the DJ pulled out at the last minute. Mel threw herself into a crash course of DJ’ing just to cover, and her skillset, musical influence and more importantly, ear for the biggest bangers and curation led to things popping off. So much so that offers to DJ private events came crashing in.
Mel honed her craft as diligently and quickly as possible and from there more bookings and residencies started coming in. Now 4 years deep Mel has everything licked, and as well as being the official KING DJ, she also collabs with the likes of BMW, NIKE and Converse and mixes for celebrities such as Afro- B, Davido, The New York Yankees and Roc Nation.
